Match 10: RCB vs KKR
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) established themselves at the top of the points table with their third consecutive win against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M.A Chidambaram stadium on Sunday.
In a high-scoring game, RCB went in to bat first after winning the toss. They finished their innings with a commanding 204 runs with the loss of just 4 wickets. Glenn Maxwell established his form with the bat by scoring 78 of 49 deliveries. This was followed by Ab de Villiers’ scintillating 76 of just 34 balls giving RCB a commanding lead in the game.
Kolkata, in response, got off to a good start but were no match for RCB’s bowling attack. They lost wickets at regular intervals putting them in a tight spot at the halfway mark. Eoin Morgan and Shakib tried to stabilize the innings with their contributions of 29 and 26 respectively but eventually succumbed to the RCB bowlers. In the penultimate over, Mohammed Siraj displayed exceptional skill by giving away just 1 run against Andre Russel and firmly securing RCB’s victory.
RCB won the match by 38 runs and AB de Villiers was awarded the player of the match for his game-winning knock.
