Match 14: PBKS vs SRH
The fourteenth game of the season saw Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) go head-to-head at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The latter emerged victorious in what seemed to be a pretty one-sided game on Wednesday.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad found their batting form while chasing 121. They easily managed to get there with the loss of only one wicket. The three foreign players, Jonny Bairstow, David Warner and Kane Williamson played mature knocks and gave the bowling attack a run for their money. The winning runs came off a wide delivery which was a perfect way to describe how the game went for the Kings. Bairstow was awarded the player of the match for his sensible knock of 63 from 56 balls.
Earlier in the day, the Kings won the toss and elected to bat as did the previous time at the same venue. Despite good starts by Mayank Agarwal and Chris Gayle, the Punjab Kings found themselves at 75/5 at the start of the fourteenth over. Shahrukh Khan, once again, provided some sparks at the end but Khaleel Ahmed’s impressive bowling spell of 3/21 restricted the Kings to a low-scoring total of 120.
